Luke 16:10 He who is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much; and he who is dishonest in a very little is dishonest also in much.
The world does not live by God's standards. Many believe there is such a thing as a "little, white lie" or that it is okay to sin if there is no chance of getting caught. We as followers of Christ are to set ourselves apart from that thinking.
In sports there is a philosophy: practice how you intent to play on game day. The idea is that if you play your heart out at practice ("in very little") then you will do that much better come game time ("in much"). That can be applied to our lives as disciples of Christ. If we expect God to ever give us big, important tasks to accomplish we have to be willing to obey Him in the small, everyday tasks He has already asked of us.
A lie is a lie, a sin is a sin, even if no one catches you, and God expects you to be faithful in the little things. Even when those little things seem menial.
