He Is Risen!

Matthew 28:6 He is not here; He has risen, just as He said.

One of the most important factors of our faith as Christ followers is the resurrection of Jesus. Three days after he was placed in the tomb and death had seemingly won, the Son of God awoke from the dead and went on to ascend into Heaven to be with his Father. What of our faith if He had not awoken? What hope would we have if Jesus had not resurrected from the dead? The one most important thing that sets Jesus apart from the figures of other major religions is that He is not dead. Buddah is dead, Muhammed is in a grave somewhere. Confusious is no longer living. But Jesus Christ...He lives!

Without resurrection, we have nothing. Without new life we have no life. Without an innocent, crucified sacrifical lamb, we have all of our sin to bear. But Jesus, did die for our sins, and He DID rise on the third day! Because He lives we have hope. Because He lives, we do not live in constant sorrow, like so many in this world. We are not hopeless, we are not without life, because He lives.
